Speaking of cooking, if you find yourself in a campsite with fire rings and are looking for a more effective way to put food above the flame to Cook, the Pioneer Grill tripod Rome is great. The stand is adjustable and breaks for storing and rack that set the baking pan, Dutch oven, coffee pot, or even certain foods directly is fully adjustable using chains, so that you can raise and lower to control the amount of heat. The gizmos sometimes fluctuates a bit but it works especially well with heavy objects around.

Everyone in the field should get their own flashlights, Streamlight UltraStinger rechargeable and incredibly powerful, is pretty cool, can go for an hour of continuous use, with a 30-hour halogen blub and an on-off switch button easy to hit. The 12-inch-long can be recharged in a vehicle with a 12-volt or using a 110 volt plug. The downside: it's ridiculously expensive. But will last forever, and the fact that it is refillable is huge.
